What is Salsa Verde made of?

Salsa verde gives any dish such a delicious flavor. It is made with tomatillos, jalapeno peppers, garlic, onion, cilantro and more.

The combination is really something special and it blends for an amazing salsa. We have a super easy recipe for homemade salsa verde that is a must try!

Ingredients needed:

• boneless skinless chicken breasts

• monterey jack cheese (optional, but we love it with cheese)
• cilantro to top (optional)

How to make salsa verde chicken:

First, go ahead and preheat your oven. Now that you have that taken care of, let’s make this super tasty chicken.

Second, you will need a 9×13 pan and I like to use cooking spray. This helps to make clean up easier.

Next, put the chicken in the pan and pour the salsa all over the chicken. Make sure the chicken is totally covered.

You can use store bought salsa verde but we love to make homemade salsa verde.It is very easy. Promise. 🙂

Finally, just bake the chicken. It takes less than 30 minutes and you get the most tender and flavor packed chicken.

Now, this last step is optional but totally worth it. I like to top the chicken with cheese and cilantro once it is finished cooking.

Lastly, broil for a few minutes until the cheese is melted and oh my! What a fabulous dinner you have.

Remove chicken and enjoy. It is so good.

What to serve with salsa verde chicken:

Top it with any optional toppings or enjoy it alone. We havetopped it with cilantro and crushed tortilla chips or even a teaspoon of sour cream.
