Shaquill and Shaquem Griffin were born in St. Petersburg, Florida on 20 April 1995. Their story from their early days to the NFL has been an incredible one.Here we will delve into the captivating journey of their upbringings, college years at the University of Central Florida (UCF), and success in the NFL afterward.
Early Years and Bond as Twins
Tangie and Terry Griffin brought the famous brothers into this world, Shaquill and Shaqem shared an inseparable connection from early on. But from the time they were kids, they did more than grow up together - racing in track, baseball, and football teams on the sidelines of St. Louis was an undeniable starting point for both men. This shared love of sport and support for one another became the rock on which they built what would become an incredible football story.
College and High School Football
Shaquill and Shaquem both went to Lakewood Highschool where they honed their interest in football. After standout high school football careers, the brothers decided to attend and play for UCF together instead of going on offers from schools like the Miami Hurricanes where they would only be able to continue playing with each other. Their tenure at UCF was terrific in which both of them- Shaquill played for UCF Knight's Football team from 2013 to 2016 whereas Shaquemheld outuntil 2017.
UCF and NFL Success
Shaquill was a stand-out cornerback, and Shaquem had made his name as an unlikely linebacker in college at UCF which ultimately put them on the map for success once they arrived in the NFL. The Seattle Seahawks drafted Shaquill in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft and then later selected Shaquem in the fifth round of last year's draft. The college stats of both speak volumes about their passion and abilities on the field, Click the link, with Shaquill shining defensively while his twin earned accolades such as the AAC Defensive Player of The Year selection award honors before winning also 2018 Peach Bowl for Most Valuable Performer in defense.
NFL Career and Achievements
All have shined in the NFL as well. Shaquill, a standout cornerback who has played for the Seattle Seahawks, Jacksonville Jaguars, Houston Texans, and Carolina Panthers (practice squad), was claimed last month by his MEAC teammate leader as well. He has been named to one Pro Bowl (2019) and his career numbers show that he is a difference-maker in the league. Though Shaquem had to overcome his struggles, losing his left hand at a young age due to amputation, the linebacker never displayed any quit during stints with the Seattle Seahawks and Miami Dolphins.
